The Brighton Royal Pavilion has got to be Brighton’s most iconic attraction (in fact it’s the logo for the city!).
Located right in the centre of Brighton in the Old Steine area the Royal Pavilion is an impressive landmark and also serves as a good focal point for anyone trying to get their bearings around the city centre as the seafront, pier, shopping centre and numerous Brighton hotels are within minutes walk from the Pavilion.
Built at the turn of the 19th century the Royal Pavilion is a masterpiece of design and architecture, completely unchanged and unspoiled by the development around it which the area has seen in the past 200 years.
Inside the Royal Pavilion you can tour the various rooms which are each individually decorated in an impressively artistic fashion. To get the most out of your visit you really need to use the audio guide, which is free with the price of your admission, that way you’ll get a sense of the interesting history of the building. Allow around 2 hours for a full tour.
Admission to the Royal Pavilion costs £9.50 with discounts for children, OAP’s and larger groups. Admission tickets can be purchased online at www.royalpavilion.org.uk or at the door.
