The Sealife Centre in Brighton is located opposite the Brighton Pier and Albion hotel at the top of Madeira drive. The Brighton Aquarium has been housed in this building in various forms since 1872 so the Sealife Centre building gives you a flavour of Victorian architecture as well as marine life! This heritage leads to the Sealife centre’s claim of being the worlds oldest operating aquarium.
The Sealife Centre displays over 150 species of fish and marine life including sharks, giant turtles and sting rays. Its most popular feature is the ‘shark walk’, a glass topped underwater tunnel which visitors can walk through and get an underwater view of the sharks and other fish swimming around the enclosure.
The Sealife Centre is open 10am – 5pm weekdays and 10am-6pm on weekends.
A standard adult ticket costs £17.50 on the door or £14.50 if you book online via the Sealife Centre website. Children up to 14 years are £11 online or £14 on the door and kids under 3 go for free. If you’re planning on visiting the Sealife Centre
