Brighton: A Runner’s Paradise

Strap on your running shoes and get training! The second annual Brighton Marathon is set for 10 April 2011 and last year’s super sunny inaugural event was met with such enthusiasm that this sophomore race is expected to receive over 100,000 visitors supporting over 15,000 runners. For those not running, line up along the 26.2 mile route for a view of the action, which starts at 9am with a run around Preston Park, heading past the Brighton Pavilion, along the coastal roads and through the South Downs.

Brighton Rock Filming Locations

The release of Brighton Rock, the film remake of author Graham Greene’s famous novel is set to hit cinemas throughout the UK. The film stars Dame Helen Mirren as Ida, John Hurt as Phil Corkery, Andy Serkis as Mr. Colleoni, Sam Riley as Pinkie and Andrea Riseborough as Rose. In agreement with both the novel and the classic 1947 original film version, the films tells the story of gang boss Pinkie who marries Rose, a potential witness who happened to stumble upon the scene of one of his murders, to keep her from speaking out against him.
