Our Kings Hotel Brighton Review:

Consisting of three restored Georgian mansions, this listed property is located on Brighton’s main seaside thoroughfare, after which it takes its name. Facing the West Pier, the affordable Kings Hotel Brighton features well-appointed but dated rooms, many of which look out over the promenade and the sea.

There are 90 guest rooms to choose from, all of which have satellite television and en suite bathrooms as standard. The rooms are warmly decorated with wooden furnishings, but are starting to show wear and tear. Some have been specially designed for persons with limited mobility. The rooms, while nicely decked-out, suffer from noise disturbance in some parts of the hotel, with this quirky accommodation being a favourite with hen parties and other groups thanks to its budget rates.

Although not available in the upper floor rooms, wireless internet is accessible in the public areas, including the lobby. Other facilities include a reading lounge, a bar and a restaurant. For breakfast, residents are given a wide choice of options including pancakes with cream, syrup and fresh berries, homemade granola and smoked salmon and scrambled egg.

The hotel does not serve dinner, but staff are happy to recommend nearby alternatives including Al Fresco on the seafront and Jamie’s Italian. Brighton itself features hundreds of fabulous places to eat, where menus from around the world are served, so guests are never far from a good evening meal.

Just across the road from the property is the beach, with bars opening out onto the pebbles, and a range of entertainments and activities including windsurfing, sea kayaking and sailing. After a day’s exploring, the hotel’s K Bar is the perfect place to relax with a cocktail, a beer or a glass of wine before heading out to a restaurant or any one of the after-dark venues the city is famous for.

The Kings Hotel Brighton is no more than two kilometres away from places of interest including the Victoria Gardens, the Brighton Pavilion and the entertainments of Komedia. It is just a short stroll from one of the largest marinas in Europe, where visitors can enjoy a drink, a bite to eat or a walk around the shops while marvelling at the hundreds of docked yachts.

Conference, banqueting and meeting facilities are available to those staying at the Kings Hotel Brighton. Brighton’s proximity to London means that it is becoming an extremely popular destination for business meetings as well as team-bonding experiences away from the capital, with this accommodation a top choice for economy business stays.

The Kings Hotel Brighton is ideal for couples, corporate guests and families alike who want a central location, near to the sea, which will not break the bank. It offers a warm and friendly atmosphere rather than the opulence of some of its neighbours, but the city offers so much to do and explore that guests rarely spend much time in their hotel rooms. But if you want something fancy with all the frills, this isn’t the place.
