When it comes to steak it simply has to be perfect. We have put together a list of the top restaurants in Brighton and Hove offering the most impressive steaks along the South Coast, from fantastic fillets to succulent sirloins.
Los Amigos is one of Brighton & Hove’s greatest Mexican restaurants, and I just keep going back for more. It’s always very popular, so it’s advisable to book a table in advance, especially at weekends.
Of course, we’re here to talk about steak and let me tell you, you’ll be blown away, especially by the fillet. It’s certainly one of the best I’ve eaten in Brighton & Hove and possibly the UK. Not only is it cooked to perfection, but also the portion size is very generous. Imagine a perfect mound of succulent flesh oozing with meat juices (or blood if that’s your thing) on your plate. It’s piping hot and is effortless to slice into. Then comes the taste- melt in your mouth and dangerously satisfying.
The restaurant itself is charming and vibrant, with candlelit tables- good for a fun date or large groups. I always enjoy a cocktail or two here or perhaps a jug of sangria to share. Of course, all the other food on offer from nachos to delicious fajitas, tasty tacos and giant king prawn cocktail, is excellent. Truly authentic Mexican flavours with efficient spicy staff.
Price range: £25-£35

Foxy’s Roast & Grill
Foxy’s Roast & Grill in Brighton & Hove is a charming restaurant with a great vibe. It offers all day and late-night dining and drinking for all to enjoy. The moment you step inside, you are presented with an open-style kitchen where the chefs are busy at work and where the aromas from the grill and sizzling rotisserie make your stomach rumble. It’s all very laid back and sociable and draws a large crowd late into the night.
Steak is hand-cut to any size and is extremely flavoursome. Choose from a traditional cut, such as rump (£3.70 per 100g) or sirloin (£4.70 per 100g), or mix it up by choosing the ‘Reef and Beef’ option (your choice of steak cut to order with giant ocean prawns, £4.45 + price of the steak) or Foxy’s mixed grill (£18.45). The best part about Foxy’s is watching your food being freshly prepared and cooked right in front of you, which makes it taste all the better.
Foxy’s also offers unbeatable roasts from £8.95, light lunches & salads from £6.95 and rotisserie & grill options from £3.25. Delicious!
