Best Vegetarian Restaurants in Brighton

There’s some great vegetarian restaurants situated in Brighton and we’ve brought you our top 3 to be enjoyed. Even if you’re not a veggie, you’ll definitely be tempted after a visit to any of these fine restaurants.

Terre a Terre

Terre a Terre is a vegetarian’s paradise. The food here is exceptional, creative and unlike any vegetarian dishes I’ve ever seen. I must admit, I’m not even a vegetarian, but here you question why you ever ate meat before.

Terre a Terre is not only famous in Brighton but also well known by vegetarians and foodies all over the UK. The restaurant retains the prestigious AA Two Rosettes and Michelin: “Bib Gourmand” awards, and won the title of ‘Best for Vegetarian’- Observer Food Awards 2008. The staff here is lovely and all seem to share an amazing passion for food, as well as being considerably knowledgeable and helpful- it’s like they’re one big family.

Flavours are intense with a dynamic choice of textures, colours and presentation methods used. The menu offers so much variety and takes you on a culinary adventure. Choose from a range of quirky starters, such as ‘cool as a cucumber’ (£8.95) or ‘’Sodden Socca’ (£13.75), and mains like ‘Lettuce and Lovage’ (£13.75) or ‘pimped potstickers’ (£13.95). They also have a great kids menu and wonderful puddings. All wine on offer at the restaurant is produced organically, some biodynamically. Meaning all are free from harmful chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides.

Food for Friends

Food for Friends has been one of Brighton’s favourite vegetarian eateries, situated in the heart of the vibrant city amongst the famous Lanes. The restaurant is very magnetic, warm and welcoming. You could quite happily stay here all day sipping organic wine or indulging in generous portions of sharp, crisp dishes served with flare and originality.

There is a huge expanse of culinary treats on offer and have been influenced by Middle-Eastern, North African and Mediterranean recipes. Dishes are seasonal and use local, organic produce. Choose from starters, such as Mediterranian Mezze to share (£11.45) or classic soup of the day (£4.45). Mains start from £9.95 and include gastronomic feasts, like Portobello with fine beans and pesto (£11.95), Aubergine croque Monsieur (11.45) or Indian style curry platter (£11.95), to name a few. All of the scrumptious desserts are homemade and start from just £4.95.
