English’s of Brighton

The well-established English’s of Brighton has been cooking seafood since 1945 by the Leih-Jones family, and is one of the most well known in the area for its delicious dishes.

Its history is quite amazing- originally the restaurant consisted of 3 fisherman’s cottages, which date back over 400 years, and seafood has been served for over 150 years. As a result, you can expect to be impressed when visiting English’s restaurant, which has attracted a variety of famous guests, from Charlie Chaplin and Vivian Leigh to Twiggy and Jack Dee.

Expect freshly and locally caught lobster, Dover Sole, Plaice, crab, scallops and of course famous English’s oysters. All soups and sauces are made on the premises from the most natural ingredients, which gives English’s seafood that magic touch.

You can indulge in 2 courses for £10 all day, every day choosing from a carefully selected menu.  Or you can pick from English’s a la Carte menu, such as English’s luxury seafood platter, which starts from £45 or rope-grown mussels in white wine for just £7.95. Main courses are from £11.95. The list is endless.
